The manager of a five-star hotel is receiving death threats for apparently no reason.

At a city government event, a visiting ambassador from South America is nearly assassinated.

Counterfeit money is turning up at different locales around town.

And the Dos Reyes gang that Taylor has so fervently tried to expose, is ever involved and receiving weapons from a dealer within the town.

All of these things, Taylor suspects, are tied together with one man, and it's Taylor's plan to take him down--cut at the root of the problem. But when the man finds out Taylor is after him, he orders a hit on her life. As it is, Taylor's parents are considering stopping her from taking cases because of danger, and Taylor is dealing with the news that Chad is moving away.

Between assassins, hitmen, arms' dealers, and double-agents, Taylor is always a step away from death in this thrilling mystery. And this time, she, or her friends, may not come out of it alive…
